PhD (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Strathclyde, with subsequent roles of Research Fellow and Research Group Leader within the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His engineering background is augmented with business management experience as the founder and CEO of an equity backed technology business selling into the Oil and Gas, Medical Imaging and Defence markets in the UK and North America. This latter role exposed Stuart to the full range of innovation support available in Scotland, the UK and overseas. Stuart is therefore not only well placed to understand the issues facing management teams but is well able to advise on KTP's positioning within the wider innovation support framework. Since joining the West of Scotland KTP Centre, Stuart has managed over 150 KTP submissions with a combined value in excess of £20m for partners. In addition to supporting partnership formation and bid submissions, Stuart provides ongoing portfolio management support to University partners as well as direct promotion of the KTP programme to companies and intermediaries in the West of Scotland.
